About Cart for a Cause
“Cart for a Cause,” a food-truck based fund-raising initiative that serves gourmet meals crafted by the elite chefs of the Los Angeles culinary scene, benefiting St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, the Los Angeles- based chapter of the national Meals on Wheels organization. “Cart for a Cause,” launched in early 2010, travels across Los Angeles, selling meals created by some of Los Angeles’s preeminent chefs. Since its inception, “Cart For A Cause” has raised funds that have provided nearly 15,000 meals to the elderly, infirm and housebound in Los Angeles.
About St. Vincent Meals on Wheels
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is the largest privately funded Meals program in the country. Operating 365 days a year, on average 4,700 nutritious meals a day are prepared and delivered to homebound seniors and others throughout the Los Angeles community. St. Vincent Meals on Wheels serves anyone who is homebound and in need, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnicity, disability or ability to pay.
